Reading the Methodist Compass:
How Methodists Discern Using Scripture, Tradition, Experience, and Reason
Sundays, Oct. 10 & 17, 4:00-5:30 PM
Meeting ID: 840 5083 6239
What makes a Methodist “reading” of scripture distinct? What did John Wesley introduce to faith formation that launched a movement? Why are “all invited” to our Communion Tables rather than only those baptized by our church? Rev. Preston Price will explore the “whys and hows” of “doing” theology in the United Methodist tradition. Those in church leadership will benefit and be enriched from learning many of the basics of Methodist theology.
Preston Price has been a pastor for more than 50 years. He’s served rural, urban and suburban churches in California, Hawaii, and Illinois. Among Preston’s experiences where his knowledge, experience, and grounding in Methodist theology and history were essential in influencing UMC’s ministries was serving as the Secretary to the UMC’s Judicial Council (the “Supreme Court” of the UMC). He brings passion, joy, intentionality, compassion, and justice to living out his faith.
