What is the Bible, and How Do I Use It?
Tuesdays, October 26, November 2, 9, 16 7:00-8:30 p.m. via Zoom
An introductory course for those who don’t know the Bible well – or who think they don’t.
This class is designed to be an introduction to reading and studying the Bible for all who are new to the faith, those who think they know little about the Bible, or those who want to explore the tools for reading the Bible. It seeks to make us better Bible readers and interpreters. It hopes to enhance the way we study the biblical passages that are used in sermons. The class will introduce us to a study Bible, to Bible Dictionaries, and to concordances. Together we will study passages of scripture and practice using the tools of study.
Jack L. Seymour is professor emeritus of religious education at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. Jack attended First UMC for over 25 years and is delighted to be back with First UMC folk.
Please register below. The class will be limited to 15 attendees.
